Sushi restaurant to come to the Heights

Ume Sushi will open Jan. 2 in a former Barnaby’s location at 2802 White Oak Drive, Eater Houston reported. The restaurant was built by Construction Concepts and designed by chef and owner Chris Kinjo.

The 3,000-square-foot restaurant will have 58 dining room seats, eight sushi seats and 30 bar seats, once Covid-19 capacity restrictions ease.

Kinjo is also the owner of MF Sushi in the Museum District.
