HOUSTON (March 18, 2020) – Construction Concepts is recognized for building some of Houston’s most notable restaurants – and for giving back to the community. With the recent restrictions on the restaurant industry, CEO Joshua Weisman has teamed up with Bosscat Kitchen & Libations owners John Reed and Leslie Nguyen to help local restaurants stay open, continue to serve the community – and serve Houston’s most at-risk population in partnership with B.I.G. Love Cancer Care.
BCK Management, the owners of Bosscat Kitchen & Libations and BCK, along with Construction Concepts will donate up to 500 meals for families and medical staff at Texas Children’s Hospital, MD Anderson, and cancer families quarantined at home through B.I.G. Love Cancer Care. They will be donating one meal to B.I.G. Love Cancer Care for any order placed from Bosscat or BCK, no matter how big or small the order.
“As a locally owned business working with many restaurateurs, we understand the tremendous impact this has on our local economy and the entire hospitality industry,” said Construction Concepts’ Joshua Weisman. “Our local restaurants and their staff need our support right now. Even in these financially trying times, John wants to pay that forward by extending that help to the families and medical staff that are among those facing the greatest risk. As a longtime supporter of B.I.G. Love, we are asking everyone to join us in this effort to help both our restaurant industry and our medical communities.”
The U.S. Labor Department estimates 277,000 people work in Houston area restaurants and bars, with approximately 56,000 working as waitstaff.
“The restaurant industry has always stepped up in times of need, and this is no different,” said Bosscat’s John Reed. “We are all trying to adjust to the current restrictions and be able to keep our doors open and staff employed, as well as continuing to provide some sort of normalcy for the community by offering meals to-go. Our mission has always been to serve. Through this partnership, we can help keep the local economy going and in turn share that with those families that have now lost any sort of normalcy at all.”
